For some reason, alchemists of the last century started talking about retinas of jellyfish instead of the retinas of medusaes. No one knows why the change happened, but now no one actually cares that the sought-after retinas have nothing to do with the eyeless cnidarians.
Medusaes are, in fact, an extremely rare amphibian species which looks like a crossing between an eel and a human woman covered with scales.
A full-grown medusae rarely weighs more than ten kilos and its flesh is not edible. The most respectful fishermen pick only the eyes before throwing them back in the water. These quickly regenerate.
Despite their disturbing appearance, these extremely rare animals have no hints of humanity.
