As you saw bear tracks before you arrived, you decide to lure the monstrous wolves toward these peaceful giants of the forest. So you wait for their appetite for the merchant to subside a little, then make a noise to get their attention and take to your heels. The predators keep getting closer, but your plan works, and your pursuers run smack into a mother bear with a well-developed territorial instinct.
