It is certainly not the first time you have to dive in to get to the bottom of a story but the situation becomes less agreeable when it is not a figure of speech. Therefore you pull on your hip waders and undertake the searching of the bottom of the lake while hoping it will be easier to find a medallion in the darkness and mud than finding a needle in a haystack.
