Well, as you know, the Calerons wish me to become the new “suzerain” of the Lower Depths. Of course, if they’ve chosen me, it’s because they see in me a good obedient dog. I am not naive. According to my informers, more than half of the criminals of Halmvik wish to see me take control of the underworld. Obviously, I’m not the only one hoping to get that position.
