Introduction

Since you're here, could you do me a favor? I need a few orchis, but I have to prepare some plants for a friend and don't have time to pick them myself. Could you pick some for me? I'd be grateful.

I have friends who absolutely don't understand why becoming a botanist is difficult. In their eyes, my job consists entirely of picking plants in the fields. What they don't know is that plants have to be picked at a precise moment and in just the right way, to prevent them from losing their particular properties.
